SAN DIEGO, CA — Jazz 88.3 FM (KSDS), the award-winning jazz station located at San Diego City College, proudly presents a special live-streamed fundraiser performance by the Jonathan Cohen Trio on Thursday, October 30th, 2025. From 7:00 to 8:00 PM in our City College Recording Studio (14th St & C St, East Village, San Diego), pianist Jonathan Cohen and his trio will deliver an evening of soulful swing, inventive improvisation, and modern jazz originals to listeners tuning in locally and online.
Jazz pianist Jonathan Cohen is an active participant in the San Diego jazz scene, and has performed with many of the area's top musicians. In addition to his solo work, he works regularly with a wide variety of musicians, in many formats --- duo, trio, quartet, and more. He is an enthusiastic interpreter of standard (and not-so-standard) repertoire, as well as a composer.
Claudio Rochat-Felix is a San Diego–based drummer known for his deep pocket and expressive versatility across jazz, hip-hop, and pop. Originally from Massachusetts, he studied classical violin from age six, earning a degree in violin performance from Vassar College before shifting his focus to drums at The New School for Jazz, where he studied with Chico Hamilton and Joe Chambers.

This fundraiser carries special significance — just a few months ago, public broadcast funding cuts impacted operations, making community support more vital than ever. Contributions from this event will help keep San Diego’s only jazz station alive, ensuring that Jazz 88 continues bringing live music, education, and culture to the airwaves.
